The Importance of having photos with Mum

Mother's Day is nearly here; our Easter Sessions were so much fun with the range of pastel colours that popped through, that I felt the need to do something colourful for Mother's Day. And to top it off, a session that includes hair, makeup and accessories. Who doesn't like being pampered?! Photo sessions can mean so much more than simply an image to hang or display- they reflect a time in your life, or a stage that you as a person, or as a family were experiencing. When a child comes to a photo session and is determined to not play along (Oh yes, they exist in many families!) then their little frowns only make you laugh more when we look back at the image. 'That day?! Oh yes, little Mr would not have a bar of the session, and I will never forget that time'. What have you created in that instant? A memory. A very powerful memory. Children come to sessions with 'fabulous' hair styles; fringes that have been self shortened, or 'touched up' by a sibling. Don't cancel your photo session due to these reasons, but embrace it! What a story that hair style has, to tell your grandchildren one day, or laugh about at their 21st. It won't last forever, but, they will (hopefully) never look like that again, which is special in itself. This Mother's Day, I would love to encourage everyone to take a photo with their Mum. Whether you have a new scar on your forehead (yes...mine is self inflicted, lol), whether the rain is pouring down, whether the toast is burnt or there is no milk. You will never have Mother's Day 2016 again- that day will be gone, and so will the stories along with. So do yourself a favour and book in for a session, or pick up that phone and grab a snap. Time is too precious to let it slip away, and so are our Mothers!
