Mumma, it's your time to shine

As a mother, we naturally place priority on our children... we nurture them, dote on them, croon to them and continually place them first. They are our babies and our adoration; especially after several children, running around with work and house chores, including our partners in our thoughts, it is really easy to forgot about ourselves. It is easy to put money towards soccer or dance lessons, their next birthday, the next family holiday... but what about you? What about Mum?

Maternity sessions are a wonderful reason to celebrate YOU- you as a woman, as an individual embarking upon a new journey. Whether this is your first child, or your fifth, you have never been at this age in life, with this particular child inside... every story is different. Perhaps this was a surprise bub, perhaps the baby you have been longing for, or a pregnancy that has been harder than you expected and will carry many, many stories and experiences with you for the rest of your life. Pregnancy changes us- how could it not. It changes our partners too, but the greatest toll will always be upon the mothers body. The stretch marks, the bruises from medication, the pelvic floor that is never the same, the breasts that change through out...

When you agree to do a Maternity Session, I would like you to know something- I think you are brave. I think you are brave for stepping outside of your comfort zone, and embracing your body no matter what shape or size it is. I think you are brave for accepting who you are, and getting in front of my lens so you and your babies will have incredible images to remember about your journey as a mother; I am also incredibly grateful that I get to see this small part of your journey.

My pregnancy seemed to last years and not months, and now that my first pregnancy is nearly 10 years behind me, I wish I had thought to have my own images taken, particularly to share with my own children. For them to see me as a woman, at that particular stage in my life, carrying them.Let yourself shine, there is no time like now! These sessions are perfect as a gift- you can come together with a bunch of girlfriends and give a voucher to a pregnant Mumma, that will continue to give for years to come. I work individually with every woman to meet her desires to feel beautiful and glorious during this time.
